International Buffet Lunch
Treat your mom to a buffet at Garden Café with beautifully cooked dishes from different cuisines. First and foremost, it offers an extensive selection of Asian favourites such as sushi, sashimi, and barbecued delicacies,as well as prepared-to-order wonton noodles, laksa and Hainanese chicken rice. Moving westward, guests can delve into chilled seafood platters with Canadian king crab legs, prawns, whelks, mussels and clams, as well as hot items including red wine braised beef cheek, grilled sirloin and rack of pork. Not to be missed are egg waffle,Häagen-Dazs ice cream and other sensational desserts.
The Best of Land and Sea Buffet Dinner
On 13 and 14 May, Garden Café’s trademarked buffet dinner will welcome those celebrating Mother’s Day with time-limited delicacies. Lobster Thermidor (each person is entitled to half a lobster) comes sizzling with cheese and hints of cognac, while Peking duck captivates gastronomes with its tantalising skin and tender meat.Upon arrival, guests will first have a taste of two freshly-shucked oysters carrying fragrant essences of the sea.Served in rotation, chilled abalone in huadiao wine, Japanese isoyaki abalone, smoked salmon with caviar and pan-fried goose foie gras all evoke tastes of luxury. Boston lobsters, Canadian king crab legs and claws, prawns and mussels are cooked and served chilled, while yellow fin tuna belly, amberjack, salmon, tuna and squid are prepared sashimi-style alongside California rolls and mixed sushi.The reopening of the outdoor barbecue area introduces guests to various prime cuts such as Tomahawk pork chop, wagyu ribeye, and Australian lamb chop, all grilled at the moment and filled with smoky aromas.Meanwhile, the ovens churn out timeless classics such as Beef Wellington with a golden crust and juicy interior,and salt-crusted whole salmon fillet with touches of spices. The hot food section is headlined by Italian roast chicken wrapped in prosciutto and herbs, pan-fried sea bass with tomato salsa, Thai steamed fish and typhoon shelter shrimp. Don’t miss the made-to-order Hainanese chicken rice and Asian noodles.
Remember to make room for the myriad of desserts in all shapes and forms. Strawberry Romanoff is assembled a-la-minute at 8:30pm to ensure the fruits and whipped cream are in top conditions. The weekly special alternates among airy caramel milk puffs, smooth white chocolate yuzu mousse and tangy strawberry yogurt mousse. In addition, each of crème brûlée, strawberry mille-feuille, black forest cake, green tea tart and Haägen-Dazs ice cream appeals to guests’ sweet tooth with its distinctive flavour and texture.Fruit juice, soft drinks and beer can be refilled at all times. Free-flowing red, white and sparkling wines are available for an additional $120.
In both the buffet lunch and dinner, every mother will receive a carnation as a token of gratitude and love.
